31.03.09 At FGUP "NPP VNIIEM" session of National Committee was held. The topic was flight work  of space complex "CORONAS-PHOTON"

After granting a hearing to reports, talks and conclusions of head organisations concerning main topic, National Committee made a decision: taking on account results of initial stage of flight work, to add "CORONAS-PHOTON" to orbital line-up of space apparatus of social, economic, scientific and commercial usage.

02.03.09 Russian solac space observatory "CORONAS-PHOTON". First results of "KONUS-RF" experiment.

Scientific apparatus complex of new solar space observatory "CORONAS-PHOTON", which was launched on the 30th of January, 2009 to the cirucmterrestrial orbit with 82,50 grad tilt and remoteness from Earth approx. 547-592 km, includes gamma-spectrometer "KONUS-RF" for examining hard x-ray radiation solar flashes, cosmic gamma-splashes and soft gamma-repiters' activity. Space apparatus"CORONAS-PHOTON" is stabilized by rotation around sun-oriented axis, with exactitude of few angular minutes. One of detectors gamma-spectrometers is directed to Sun, another one is directed backwards. "KONUS-RF" experiment is dedicated for detailed research of temporal and spectral characteristics of solar flashes and space gamma-splashes in wide energy band from 10 keV to 10 MeV. Spectrometer is highly sensitive and is optimised for measuring events' characteristics. Apparatus is the development of russian-american experiment "KONUS-WIND" concerning detectors' construction and measurements' organization. Simultaneous solar flashes and cosmic gamma-splashes observations by spectrometric detectors, which are situated in different places in space and have concerted measurement modes, greatly improve confidence and veracity in registration of thin details in time histories and energy spectrums' splashes.

On official ROSCOSMOS web-site new message is published: "What are modern controle technologies for terrestrial cosmic infrostructure technical conditions on Plesetzk cosmodrome and how they have helped during recent work for space apparatus "CORONAS-Photon" launch" http://www.roscosmos.ru/NewsDoSele.asp?NEWSID=5463 (in russian)

20.02.09 Turn-on of "CORONAS-Photon" scientific sets is carried on normally

According to the flight work tests program for scientific instruments of "CORONAS-Photon" scientific sets phase-by-phase turn-on has started. Workability of SSRNI set, on-board transmitters, BIS-KF system and recieving stations NZ OMZ is approved during communication sessions in both encoded and unencoded modes.

As results of express-analysis recieved on 20.02.2009 show, turned-on scientific instruments work properly. Turning-on program for scientific sets is on.

13.02.09 Reporting space apparatus "CORONAS-PHOTON" flight work
According to the flight program of scientific satellite "CORONAS-PHOTON", launched on the 30th of January from Plesetzk cosmodrome with "Cyclone-3" missile-carrier, a lot of work was brought up by engaged specialists to accomplish on-board service systems' tests and to test it's functioning modes.

Test radiolines turn-on was conducted with test information transfer to the recieving stations of Scientific Center of on-line Earth Monitoring in Moscow.

Later on it is planned to initiate test turn-ons of scientific instruments. Information from scientific instruments of space apparatus will be recieving by Recieving Stations and will be transfered on-line in Express Processing Center (MEPHI), which will store it and conduct it to the final users.

30.01.09 Mission Control Center has taken "CORONAS-PHOTON" under its guidance

30.01.09 20:05 Second run of transmitting telemetric information has taken place. According to the inboard data pressure and temperature in pressure shell is at normal rate, orientation on Sun is set, board tension is at normal rate.

30.01.09 18:10 Complex "CORONAS-PHOTON" has entered radio-visibility area, and first telemetery was translated, solar batteries have opened, pressure in pressure shell is at normal rate.

30.01.09 16:35 Launch of space apparatus "CORONAS-PHOTON" is completed successfully, the first and the second stages worked out standart, in 18 hours 10 minuttes it will be clear, if the satellite has made it to the required orbit.

30.01.09 Preparation of systems of space apparatus is over. Filling of booster with fuel has begun. Thirty minutes readiness is declared.

29.01.09 Launch of space apparatus "CORONAS-PHOTON" is postponed on 16:30 of 30.01.09 because of technical reasons.

29.01.09 Today at 16 hours 30 minutes from cosmodrome Plesetzk will be launched missile-carrier Cyclon-3 with space apparatus "CORONAS-PHOTON". We are publishing high definition photos from cosmodrome. Published materials can be freely used in mass media.

12.01.09 Work on cosmodrome continues

On Plesetzk cosmodrome preparations for the launch of space apparatus "CORONAS-PHOTON" and scientific instruments are continued by specialists from organisations producers of devices.

15.12.08 "CORONAS-PHOTON" has arrived at cosmodrome

At 1:40 AM "CORONAS-PHOTON" was delivered by railway at Plesetzk cosmodrome.

In connection with this in web media is mentioned, that "CORONAS" program is held under Federal space program of Russia for fundamental space researches, run by Federal space Agency. "CORONAS-PHOTON" project is included in international program "Life with a star". Space apparatus "CORONAS-PHOTON" was created in community of enterprises, included in Federal space Agency structure.

"CORONAS-PHOTON" will be launched on behalf of Russian Academy of Sciences and will provide it with information for studying sequences of processes in solar plasma, leading to explosions and energy releases. This process is accompanied with acceleration of particles with their further appearance in observed solar events.
It is supposed, that satellite will work no less, than three years. In this time it will observe evolution of enery specrums of hard electromagnetic radiation in energy range of 12 keV to 2000 MeV, streams of soft roentgen and ultraviolet radiation of Sun. Also, "CORONAS-PHOTON" will study time behavior of hard roentgen radiation with high time resolution (up to 1 ms), change of linear polarisation of hard roentgen radiation in solar flashes and gamma-splashes. Apparatus will register neutrons of solar origin, examine energy spectrum and charges of nucleus, accelerated during solar flashes.

Scientists are also interested in anomalous components of cosmic rays and in radiation, captured by Earth's magnetic field. "CORONAS-PHOTON" will observe higher layers of earth atmosphere, by measuring absorption of solar roentgen and ultraviolet radiations in it. Apparatus will make survey of Sun with high angular and time resolution in some roentgen lines of solar plasma, and also helioseismological observations of Sun in nearest ultraviolet to infrared range.

01.12.05 Descent of space apparatus CORONAS-F from orbit has begun

Russian-Ukrainian space apparatus CORONAS-F has been put into an orbit on July, 31st, 2001, and has been developed for 1 year of active work. On CORONAS-F is established AVS-F - device, developed in our institute . The device created for studying characteristics of non-stationary streams of electromagnetic radiation in a wide range energy 3 keV - 80 MeV. Results of the researches, lead CORONAS-F, have received a high estimation of Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences and the international scientific community. CORONAS-F was singular russian scientific satellite working in an orbit at the moment. During this week the device will burn down in dense layers of atmosphere. There is no threat for civils in this turn off.
